Usually, I would share my own opinion on this topic, but instead, I want to take a moment to remember a unique chapter in Hollywood racing history. It's been nearly ten years since the last Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race—a fun and competitive event that used to take place during the Long Beach Grand Prix. For those unfamiliar, this race was a special exhibition where about a dozen celebrities faced off against each other, with a few professional race drivers thrown into the mix. The pros started 30 seconds behind the celebrities as a handicap, giving everyone a chance to compete on more level terms.
What made this event particularly exciting was that some celebrities displayed a surprising talent behind the wheel. Alfonso Ribeiro, famously known as Carlton Banks from "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," was unofficially the most successful competitor over the event’s 40-year history. He managed to win four times—in 1994, 1995, 2015, and 2016—and in 2015 he even started alongside the professional drivers, proving that some stars can truly hold their own on the racetrack.
