Flydubai launches its first direct route to Riga, Latvia, marking the start of a three-times-weekly service between Dubai International (DXB) and Riga Airport (RIX).

Her Excellency Noora Juma, UAE Ambassador to Latvia, commented: “This day marks a new phase in the friendship between the United Arab Emirates and Latvia. The introduction of flydubai’s direct Dubai–Riga flights will boost connectivity between our nations and open doors to more opportunities in tourism, business, and cultural exchange.”
Jeyhun Efendi, flydubai’s Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce, added: “The Riga service strengthens flydubai’s European footprint and aligns with our strategy to expand connectivity to underserved markets. Latvia is a promising and dynamic market, and this non-stop link between Dubai and Riga offers passengers a convenient option. As we grow, we remain committed to investing in our fleet, services, and onboard product to deliver an elevated travel experience.”
Beyond Riga, flydubai has also begun non-stop services to Chișinău (Moldova), Iași (Romania), and Vilnius (Lithuania), expanding its European footprint to 35 destinations across 20 countries.
Overall, flydubai’s network now spans more than 135 destinations in 58 countries, with over 100 routes opening direct links to Dubai that previously did not exist. The airline operates a modern fleet of 97 Boeing 737 aircraft.
